SPRAVATO® (esketamine)

A New Option for Difficult to Treat Depression

If you’ve tried multiple antidepressants without meaningful relief, you are not alone. For some patients, traditional medications simply aren’t enough. Spravato® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved treatment designed specifically for adults with difficult to treat depression.

At Restoration Psychiatry, Spravato is administered safely under the direct supervision of our certified providers in a comfortable, private clinical setting.

What Is Spravato?

Spravato is a prescription nasal spray medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for:

  • Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) in adults

  • Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions (in combination with an oral antidepressant)

Unlike traditional antidepressants that primarily target serotonin, Spravato works on the glutamate system, a different pathway in the brain, and may provide relief more quickly for some patients.

Who May Be a Candidate?

You may qualify for Spravato if:

  • You are 18 years or older

  • You have tried at least two antidepressants without adequate improvement

  • You continue to experience moderate to severe depressive symptoms

A comprehensive evaluation with one of our providers is required to determine eligibility.

What to Expect

1. Evaluation Appointment
We will review your treatment history, symptoms, and determine if Spravato is appropriate for you.

2. In-Office Administration
Spravato is self-administered as a nasal spray under provider supervision.

3. Monitoring Period

  • Weeks 5–8: Usually once weekly

You will need someone to drive you home after each treatment.
